Westminster Briefing
On the 5th March I did a talk for Westminster Briefing for their ‘Computer Science in the Curriculum: Delivering Innovative Provision in Schools and Colleges‘ conference.
Unfortunately, I was only able to get there in the afternoon as I was teaching all morning. By all accounts, it was a great day and I certainly enjoyed the afternoon.

Matt, I’d love to talk to you about how you integrated the Pi and iPad – I have year 10s coming up next year with iPads and I find the Pi perfect for showing the relationship with hardware / software in the GCSE computing course.
Its not as flashy as it sounds.
Students use Python to programme on the Pi and the iPad has Python workbooks on. Students can then annotate, highlight and make notes on the document.
The Raspberry Pi is great for showing that relationship. 🙂
Matt, I think you have hit the nail on the head with this, moving to far towards a curriculum dominated by Computer Science will just put us back in the same situation as we are in now, the curriculum has to be balanced and include the best from all areas, ICT, Computer Science and Digital Literacy
